Friend or Foe?

Manticore: Friend or Foe?There are few wealthy philanthropists in Paragon City, and Justin Sinclair isn’t one of them.  Instead of using his money to help the poor or building up a business (like a hero I’ve heard of in another city), Manticore uses the riches he inherited from his parents to act like a child.  Since taking up his father’s mantle, Manticore has likely spent millions of dollars on improving his arrows, buying rights to the MediPort grid, and even a luxurious convertible.  He buys toys.  I’m sure his parents would be proud.

Essentially, Manticore wouldn’t even be a notable hero in the city if it weren’t for his father’s pocketbook.  Manticore has
Manticoreno super powers, just super spending abilities.  Consider the cost of the arrows he has which explode, flash blinding light, and turn into nets, how much money do you think he wastes in one day?  I have to wonder how many meals one arrow of his could fund. Perhaps there wouldn’t be a problem with The Lost if he channeled his spending elsewhere.

Even more annoying regarding Manticore is how dismissive and cryptic he acts.  Whenever asked for any answers regarding his or Freedom Phalanx’s behavior, Manticore tries to deflect the answer and, instead, get them to buy some book.  I’m sorry Manticore, but those books you keep hawking aren’t going to give me the answers I want, are they?  And this isn’t even in response to only me.  Nearly any question he’s been asked in the past month has been answered the same way.  It makes me wonder if he has some sort of agenda behind these books...

But, I guess I can’t be too hard on the guy.  After all, he did try to kill Statesman.  (Not that I’m advocating murder!)
